What is this bird?

What kind of bird is this? and where could I go for similar questions?

I have a feeling I'm going to have other unidentifiable species in my photos, so if anyone could refer me to a site where I could identify other species of animals by submitting a photo, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

I think it might be a kind of egret — where was the photo taken? That will help narrow it down.

Best answer: I'd say a Hammerkop. Maybe here?

Have you tried flickr's Bird ID Help Group? And yes, your shot does look egrettesque or heronial.

Response by poster: Another photo of the bird can be seen here, if it helps.

Response by poster: Gubo: The photo was taken in Disneyworld, in Animal Kingdom. I'm afraid that probably doesn't narrow it down at all.

Best answer: The new photo looks like Fins' hammerkop. Here's a list of the species at the Animal Kingdom — I see there's a hammerkop there, so that might well be it.

Response by poster: D'oh! I knew I should have searched allearsnet. That's my mom's friend's website. (I had a few of my photos featured there once.)
Thanks everybody!!
