Anyone able to rip a video from the dotcomedy site?

There's a FF adddon that will let you rip a video from YouTube and MySpace, etc. video sites, but it doesn't work with NBC's dotcomedy site. I've been pulling my hair out trying to get the Alec Baldwin Valtrex commercial onto my PC so I can put it on my iPod, but no luck.

Anyone got any ideas?

(grumble, you couldn't have actually made that a link instead of a huge line that causes the page to scroll?)

It looks like the site uses RTMP to stream the FLV files, and unfortunately that's a proprietary Flash format and there aren't many options to download it. Most video sites these days just stream the FLV over HTTP which makes it simple to download the files, but on ones that insist on using RTMP your choices become fewer. You could try blocking port 443 and see if that forces it to fall back to HTTP, but I think in that case it would just try RTMP over :80 which wouldn't gain you anything.

I'm sure someone will suggest using a screen capture program, and I'm sure that will work, but the quality would be pretty bad compared to actually getting it in the original format.

My advice is just wait until somebody posts it to youtube or google video.
