Another remembering question. Song lyric: "I think I've got blood poisoning!"

Another remembering question. Song lyric: "I think I've got blood poisoning!" An obscure band, probably in the early 90's, sparse and clanky percussive music. The vocalist is telling a story, not really singing, yelling perhaps, and repeating a lot of his sentences twice.

It gets a little hazy here... The story is about lunch boxes, and some kind of unrequited love. It takes place in a fish canning factory. The protagonist has a crush on someone, and perhaps due to his distraction, he loses his fingers in one of the canning machines. The line, "I think I've got blood poisoning! I think I've got blood poisoning!" seems to stick in my head for some reason. Thanks!

Might be King Missile, but I don't know the song.

A perusal of various lyric sites doesn't offer anything with "I think I've got blood poisoning"...

Searching for the lyric "blood poisoning" gives a result of Thirsy Merc's "I Wish Somebody Would Build A Bridge (So I Can Get Over Myself)"... I don't think know if it's what you're looking for (based on your other descriptions), but it gets my vote for best song title I've seen in a long time... lol

Response by poster: King Missile is close, if it's not the answer. The style is similar if not the same. I was able to confirm with a friend that the song was real, not imagined, but I'm still stumped. I'm still investigating King Missile. Jesus was way cool.

You might try some of the other Shimmy Disc artists then, if King Missle seems close. Maybe search thru the lyrics of songs by Bongwater, Costes & Suckdog, etc.

I meant Dogbowl, not C&D, but Suckdog's operas maybe what you're looking for.
