Estate/Inheritance Tax Question

How long does it normally take to get approval of the filing of a federal estate tax return? How about the filing of an Iowa inheritance tax return? eg, how long does it take to receive the tax clearances from the feds and the state authority? If it matters, the returns are being filed by a major financial institution for an estate with substantial assets.

I've heard around a year for the federal return.
