What's a movie like Bourne Identity but with a woman?

I'm trying to identify a movie that has a plot very similar to Bourne Identity but with a woman in the leading role.

I watched a film about 5-6 years ago about an ex-assassin (female) who was recovering after a memory loss as she was being chased by her former friends. She starts out as a meek brunette with a family and no past, and later she becomes blonde and dangerous etc. Then she teams up with a black guy and goes after the baddies who kidnapped her daughter. It's pretty much like The Bourne Identity but with a chick and older. What movie is it? Thanks!

Yeap, that seems to be the one.
'When we first met, you were like, 'Oh phooey, I burned the darn muffins!' ' he says, marveling at the way Charly evolves from a prom-queen brunette into a punkish platinum-blond killer.
There's a quote from the NYT Review. And it came out 1996.

Ooh, yeah, the first part of the quote makes no sense by itself.

For some reason, I saw "ex-assassin" and "older" and assumed you were talking about Point of No Return. But I shoudl have remembered, when you make an assumption, you make an ass out of "u" and "mption."

Everyone seems to have forgotten about Long Kiss Goodnight, which is a shame, because it is one of Samuel L Jackson's best rolls.

I'm always frank and earnest with women. Uh, in New York I'm Frank, and Chicago I'm Ernest.

Ouch -- you count a 30-year-old Bridget Fonda as older than a 30-year-old Matt Damon.

Point of No Return is a remake of La Femme Nikita.

(But neither of them seems to be your movie; just noting it for future reference to chick assassin movies.)

Fans of the excellent The Long Kiss Goodnight and La Femme Nikita will also enjoy Run Lola Run (Lola Rennt), starring Franka Potente who went on to play in The Bourne Identity and Supremacy.
