Intensive Language Component

I'm looking at business graduate programs that have an intensive language component.

I've looked into the Jaims program at the University of Hawaii and also the Masters of International Management at Portland State University. Does anyone know of any other programs like these? Also, does anyone know someone who is attending or has completed either of the programs mentioned above?

I have friends who work internationally (both government and private sector) who attended Thunderbird, and were pleased with the language training they received there.

The MIM program at Portland State is *excellent*. The primary instructor is Dr. Lee Buddress, who is also the head of their Supply and Logistics Management program, which both my sister and I did our undergrad degrees in.

Many of their grads go on to executive positions at Nike, Intel, Boeing, etc. I can put you in touch with Dr. Buddress directly if you'd like, although he's kinda hard to catch.

The Monterey Institute of International Studies has an MBA program. Small school, all about language and the international aspect (full disclosure: I studied Translation & Interpretation there, earning an MA). Also an excellent program in International Policy Studies. A large percentage of the student body is from outside the U.S. It's a nice mix of people interested in policy/nonprofit/public administration work + language nerds like myself + future teachers of English as a foreign language + business types with the international arena in their scopes ... all very different areas of study attracting very different characters. But all united by the intensive language angle.

And Monterey, CA is beautiful place to live, too. I still miss the smell of the air.

Second MIIS - I'm an MBA student there at present. Three semesters of a language are required, and you must begin at a 300 level (there are summer intensive programs to help you get there if need be). Email me at lavidalibre at gmail if you are want to ask any questions as I can't guarantee I'll be back to this thread.

Also, I have heard some things might be in disarray at Thunderbird, but that's speculation more than fact.
