Security Certificate, wifi and Acer pda problem

Hello all,
I am trying to get my new Acer N50 pda to connect to the secure wi-fi network at work. I can get it to connect to open networks and to secure networks with a WPA password key.

What I can't get it to do is to connect to the wifi network at work, which uses log on name/password and so requires the installation of a security certificate - but somehow I can't download it and in fact I don't even get offered it - just get told I don't have it.

Techies at work not much help. Say they have had the problem before, have installed manually, but it comes up as invalid.

So, any ideas? Problem with Windows mobile 2003? With network set up at work? With something else?

I run dual SSID's on my WAPs, one with MAC Address limited WPA (with very few devices on it) for this very reason. Some devices dont play nicely with enterprise authentication on WAP's.

Do the computers that connect have a security certificate?

Also, the local tech college uses certificates for PDAs. Here's their explanation page, and the PocketPC connection instructions (PDF). You might find those useful.
