what present can i get my distant brother for his 40th birthday?

he's a fashion designer in paris, i live in italy. though we're german, the main part of our youth was spent in nyc. by the time we moved to paris (end of high school) we'd already grown apart. we've been pretty distant ever since, friendly but distant.
thought it would be nice to make a bit more of a gesture this time (we've skipped each other's birthdays more than once), given the milestone. and it would be nice if it were something that somehow refers to (past) common ground. any inspiration out there?

1. A pair of Air Jordan I's

2. An ipod shuffle loaded with the kind of music he liked back then.

3. Tickets to NYC for a long weekend.
