Some kind of nail hanger

I believe that's a flooring cleat for a nailer gun. Like these.

Response by poster: I'm not so sure that these are flooring cleats. I can only go by the drawing of the cleats on the box, but my object looks more 3-dimensional, so to speak. I will go find some at the hardware store to confirm/deny this, though. Thanks.

Here is a L-Nail for presumably manual instalation, but the ones made for nail guns have a different shape.

At the risk of committing the askMe crime of answering the question you didn't ask - if you're looking for that as a hanger, as your word choice seems to indicate, you really don't want to use it as such. While the edges are a wee squared, they're not going to be enough to keep it from rotating in gypsum board if any amount of torque is applied to them. It might hold its rotation in wood but it might not.
