What Hollywood director is Bob Odenkirk imitating in this skit?

This is the second time I've seen Bob Odenkirk do this character [YouTube link]. From what I remember, he said he based it on a famous Hollywood director but which one? Anyone remember? It's making me crazy now.

Best answer: Robert Evans.

You gotta see The Kid Stays in the Picture....

Response by poster: Thank you! Odenkirk's "God - Books on Tape" sketch is probably one of the finest comedy moments ever so I was glad to see he resurrected the character. Thanks TonyRoberts.

Minor correction: Robert Evans is a producer. He also has acting and writing credits. Heh.

And I'll second TonyRobots rec of "The Kid Stays in the Picture", but get the book on tape as well. To quote Patton Oswalt, it's like listening to Satan dictate his memoirs.
