Saying or blessing for baby quilt

Dylan lyrics appropriate for baby or Malagasy traditional lullaby?

I am working on a baby quilt for some friends that just welcomed a child to their lives. At the top of the quilt I want to embroider a saying or blessing and I am in need of suggestions. The dad is a huge Bob Dylan fan and so I thought a short lyric (or slighlty modified lyric) from him might be nice. They live in Madagascar now, so something translated from a traditional song or saying would be nice too. Other sources are welcome too.

I hoping for something rather short (less than 10 words), but I am more interested in something meaningful and unique (so longer suggestions would certainly be considered). The message could be along the lines of sleep well, you are loved, we welcome you, good blessings, well wishes.

The Bob Dylan website is suprisingly good. It has all the lyrics to all the songs if you want to trawl through them.

"you can rest assured
I'll always do my best for her, on that I give my word

First thought would be something from "Forever Young" - although the best sentiments would be kind of long:

May God bless and keep you always,
May your wishes all come true,
May you always do for others
And let others do for you.
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.

Sorry, I have another!

For you are loved:

I'll always thank the Lord
When my working day's through
I get my sweet reward
To be alone with you.

What a nice sentiment. Dylan's very good for this stuff. Shelter From The Storm is a nice suggestion.

I wouldn't go with the "forever young" bits, makes me think too much of the victorian photos of the dead children. The rest is really beautiful, though.

Well, look at Mozambique. It's both a Dylan song and it's right next to Madagascar. There might be something in there you could use.

Mozambique (even though it is spelled "Dylon")

Lay down your weary tune, lay down,
Lay down the song you strum,
And rest yourself 'neath the strength of strings
No voice can hope to hum.

I like just the first line...
