TVPhiliacFilter: House, M.D. theme

Anyone know what the name of the song in the beginning of the show "House" is? I'm dying to know! I love it!

It's an instrumental version of "Teardrop" by Massive Attack off of their album "Mezzanine".

Best answer: Mr. Slaw has it. The full version of the song contains a lovely ethereal vocal track; the rest of "Mezzanine" is darker than "Teardrop", but it's a phenomenal album and should be owned by all right-thinking persons.

The ethereal vocal is provided by Liz Fraser, who you might know from Cocteau Twins.

The above is true only if you're watching the original American version. Here in Australia the theme has been replaced by some non-descript bit of junk.

Ditto for UK, krisjohn.

Just for future reference, the site TuneFind is all about music played on TV shows.

If you Google "house md music," this is your first result -- a site I use a lot that has information on almost every second of music played on House.

In case you wanted to hear that non-descript bit of junk. Then you'll know why krisjohn described it thus.

Bizarrely, I knew this because I was watching House with the subtitles for the deaf the other night and it came up on screen. "THEME TUNE: MASSIVE ATTACK, 'TEARDROP'"
