Where can I find horse racing data sets?

Is there a good source of horse racing results in a machine readable format? I'd prefer them to be inexpensive or free, and to be up to date.

Best answer: Equibase is the Bloomberg of horse racing. They have CSV and XML downloads available. Like Bloomberg, it's expensive ($1.50/race or $150/month).

Best answer: Bloodstock has this, too. It also isn't cheap.

Response by poster: Hmm...I guess my plan to build a neural net to predict horse results will have to be put on the back burner until I find some investors.
