Need Mac software to record info: meetings, conversations etc.

I'm looking for a software (mac) to record information from meetings, calls, discussions etc.

Just to be clear its not to record the audio but to type the info. Ideally something light, user-friendly and free or shareware.

What do you mean by "type the info"?
On-the-fly transcription of a live discussion (like an automated stenographer?) Or something that would somehow glean the main points of the live discussion and automatically take notes?

If you are typing the info, xPad is a nice little shareware notepad.

Mori and Yojimbo are two popular organisers for notes and info. Not specifically geared around recording meetings, but I bet you could work out a light workflow using one of those.

You haven't really described what sort of information you want to track. If you are just keeping notes though, I'd recomend OmniOutliner. (It's great for making structured lists.)

I use FreeMind for that sort of thing. If none of the suggestions here are what you are looking for, try searching on osx.hyperjeff.net, it is a great place to find Mac OS X software.

Maybe you find some app that suits you at the 43Folders Wiki. They nave some nice recommendations in their software section. Check out the Notebook-Software and the Wiki-like-Software sections.

I use Express Scribe. You can even buy USB foot pedals for it.

If you just want a lightweight, notpad wiki-like tool, with good search capability, i highly recommend Notational Velocity.

It's dead simple to use, and i keep everything in there -- urls and text on a particular topic i'm researching, notes for a trip i'm planning (hotels, airfares), todo lists, etc.

you can just keep adding pages and it never seems to get cluttered and is easy to find those useful tidbits of info later. I love it.
