I'm looking for a forum/discussion site about photography, particularly about the business end of being a photographer. Recommendations?

You don't mention what kind of photography (advertising, portraiture, pj) or the format, but there is a very active forum on professional digital photography at DP Review.

Dave Beckerman is a New York City-based photographer that for several years now has been keeping a journal. He quit his day job around January of 2002 and has been able to support himself through his photography work. You may be able to learn something from reading through four years worth of journals.
