What are some good image metaphors for "intelligence"? Lightbulbs, brains, computers, networks.... etc... looking for concepts, suggestions or stock images.

Just brainstorming for a project. Thanks!

Before the advent of the computer, people thought of the brain as being like clockwork. A complicated set of gears and pulleys could still work.
