Is My Language Exchange worthwhile?

I want to brush up on my old French skills and I’m considering My Language Exhange as an alternative to a class or a textbook. Has anybody had any experience with their services? Is it a worthwhile time investment? Is the basic (and free) program adequate, or do you pretty much have to shell out for their premium service?

Getting a paid membership allows you to contact other members. That's the main benefit of paying.

Now if you don't have this membership, other users will still be able to contact you to initiate exchanges.

However, your chances of finding an exchange partner without doing any outreach to other members is tiny. So if you want any tangible benefit from the Langauge Exchange Site, I think a membership is crucial.

*Spelling Error in that last line: should have said "from the Language Exchange site"
