pdf form text field lines limit

I want to limit the number of lines that users can input in a printable pdf form text field so that there is no overflow/scroll bars or auto-resizing of the text. How can i do that?

Googled and read through 50+ questions tagged pdf to no avail. I can limit the number of characters but not lines. I have adobe acrobat and designer installed. Microsoft and open office. I am willing to pay for software that makes this possible.

In the text field properties box:

Under the "Appearance" tab, set the font size to something other than "auto." Then, under the "Options" tab, make sure that the "multi-line" box is the only one checked.

Rinse and repeat.

It's not very intuitive, I ran into the exact same issue a couple weeks ago. (and yeah, TV's solution is the fix)
