Help me ID cheesy sci fi movie with stolen soundtrack

I'm trying to remember a cheesy sci fi flick from...the 80's maybe. I can't remember much except there was something about a spaceship that crashlanded somewhere, and there was a "sci fi babe" on board...there was probably some sort of talking robot too. The most memorable thing about the movie was that the music was (stolen) from the movie Somewhere in Time was used...or at least something similar. Can anyone help me identify this movie?

According to IMDB, "Turkish Star Wars" from 1982 features music stolen from The Black Hole, which was done by John Barry who did Somewhere in Time.

I have not seen Turkish Star Wars, so I do not know if it has a babe or a talking robot.

Response by poster: Hmm...interesting, but that's not it. A few more bits and pieces are crawling into my brain though...I think the spaceship (crash)landed in a desert or maybe near an ocean...somewhere sandy...and I seem to remember someone being concerned about the girl because she was sick and in sick bay on the ship...it could've been the robot...

Best answer: John Barry did the music for Starcrash with Caroline Munro. Is that it? It's from just before SIT though.

Spacehunter featured a space ship crash landing, a babe (a young Molly ringwald actually) but no robot that I remember.

Saturn 3 had a babe and a robot, not quite sure if it began with a crash landing though

the crash landing in Spacehunter is definitely in sandy territory, but the girl does not come from the ship, she is a native

I don't have a movie for you, but I do know that often when people say "the music from Somewhere in Time", they mean Rachmaninov's Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini (18th var.) The linked Wikipedia article has a short list of soundtracks on which it's been used, but none fit your movie. There's also a sad midi version of the theme linked there, if you want to see if that's the music you have in mind.

Response by poster: Starcrash and Spacehunter both look promising, I'll have to check into those...and *maybe* I'm off on the talking robot. I know it wasn't Saturn 3 or Galaxina though.

Sorry for not clarifying: when I say the music from Somewhere in Time, I'm talking about the main John Barry theme, not the Rachmaninov piece.

There is a robot in Spacehunter. The pilot has a woman on his ship, and it turns out she's an android. (She's also destroyed part way through the film.)

Response by poster: I just found some more info, including a video clip. I'm pretty sure Spacehunter isn't the movie I'm thinking about.

...Wait! Yes! Star*crash* is it! Found a video on the same web site. Thanks!

Response by poster: Oops, I guess the astericks around "crash" wasn't necessary
