CostumeFilter: Scythe? No problem. Needing awesomest quality reaper cloak.

So I've been doing a watch-a-thon of Dead Like Me (theme) and would really like to get my hands on one of those reaper costumes, but all the ones I've found all look really cheap.

Where can I find the uber-est quality reaper costume, notably with the little point in the back of the cloak's headpiece/mantle/whatever? Any liklihood of actually getting one of those pieces from the actual show's main titles?

Laughed aloud.

I just read the Wiki post about the show, but did not catch that it was humorous. I take it from these photos that it was?

Also, the Wiki article didn't directly say that the show had been canceled, but I'm assuming that it has been. I'd love to see this in High Def - but HDNET is satellite only, and I've got Comcast :-(. I'll have to look around for torrents, I guess.

It's a truly awesome show. I was highly disappointed when it was cancelled.

Seems to me that the internet-available patterns for jedi robes aren't all that different from this. Perhaps choosing a black material and enclosing the front of the robe would allow you to have a similar appearance?

Wonderful show. Terrible shame about the cancelation. I'd been looking very casually for a quality recording of the theme song, and it was lovely to find it sitting so graciously on the AskMe front page. Thank you!

I'm afraid I can't help re: the costume though.

I've got no help with the costume, but holy crap, Dead Like Me is/was a wonderful, amazing show. It's my favorite.

And yes, it's a comedy.

Response by poster: I think the favor for DLM has been nearly as good as having been answered. They sell the series in box sets per season. Wiki notes that it will be rerun on SciFi Channel starting July 18th.

It isn't necessarily a comedy so much as it an opportunity to drop the f-bomb in everyday chit chat, coupled with a type of funny that isn't laugh-track chuckles -- more "that's funny in a way that, yes, I agree."

The show somehow only lasted two seasons. I first watched it while checking out a few IRC TVshow distro's, grabbed a few, and then grabbed all of them. Ended up buying both seasons because they were so great. Incidentally, the 2nd season's DVD has a non-skippable antipiracy clip (akin to the movie theatre variety trying to appeal to sense), as if trying to reason had much bearing.

Ennyhoo, the characters are varied enough, yet the same enough to in some respects to really hold my attention. Definately recommended at least for a rental. PS -- they don't wear cloaks in the show, the main title's costumes are merely a visual symbolism of sorts, they're just everyday-looking people.
