I *don't* understand what she's saying.

WestWingFilter: What French (?) does CJ use in this clip [wav]?

In the episode The White House Pro-Am, from Season 1, the president goes on about economics, to ask CJ "do you understand what I'm saying?"
Leo: "CJ doesn't understand the words you're saying."
CJ: I understand the [oeuvre]. (?) I get the basic [what's this word] of what you're saying.

The few transcripts I've found simply say "something French" for this. Closed captioning won't work for me for reasons I need not get into.

Correct spelling is a bonus, and I'm only partially sure about oeuvre, so a confirmation on that would be brilliant.

Thanks!

Sorry. œuvre is correct as well.

Response by poster: Yeah, with my limited (read: completely non-existant) knowledge and understanding of the French language, I would have never been able to take an appropriate stab at that one.

THANK you.
