Help Me Identify This Italian Movie from 80s/90s

Think this one was from the 1980s or early/md 1990s. Old Italian Man is visited late in life by his mostly estranged adult children. They have all gone in different directions, apparently with some regret. They might be named for characters from famous operas?

Three Brothers?

Response by poster: Not Three Brothers, I'm afraid. Definitely not based on anything Russian (or anything non-Italian).

Best answer: Stanno tutti bene?

Best answer: Everybody's Fine was the American release name for Stanno tutti bene, but it's the old guy who visits his now-grown kids. This film employs a weirdness - whenever Old Guy calls one of said kids, everything around him freezes for the call's duration. Spoiler: he winds up on the street, living in a box; but I don't recall if that was a permanent outcome.

Response by poster: Stanno tutti bene (Everything's Fine) is definitely it. Thanks!
