Best Professor Layton and Phoenix Wright games?

What are the best Professor Layton and Phoenix Wright, Ace Attorney games available now for Switch? Partner hates combat games and I think they'd enjoy these, only I haven't played any since the DS so I have no idea what's good in these franchises now. Many thanks!

Best answer: It looks like most of the AA games are available on Switch now, but I'd start with just the original trilogy first (available together). Having watched a bunch of Let's Plays in the background while working on something else, I'd say that they have an...idiosyncratic charm and go off in directions you might not necessarily expect from a lawyer/detective game, so you'd want to see if they buy in to the most conventional ones before spending more.

Best answer: (also skip big top turnabout if you possibly can)

Best answer: I think the only Layton game on Switch right now is Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires' Consipiracy. Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy, The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, and Ace Attorney Investigations are all on Switch. You might be able to get some of the DS/3DS games on the Switch's Virtual Console, but I stopped participating in that ecosystem because of Nintendo's love for abandoning their platform storefronts (but hey, you can buy it all over again on the new console!)

If they're willing to branch out a bit from that genre, RiME is a fantastic platform adventure puzzle game with absolutely no combat. Other chill Switch games with zero or very minimal combat are Gris, and Cozy Grove, and Spiritfarer, and The Last Campfire.

Best answer: Agree with the assessment above for Phoenix Wright.

As for Layton, you only have one option for Switch, which is the spinoff Layton's Mystery Journey (there's also a physical version). It stars different characters but is essentially a professor Layton game and a good measure if they will enjoy that sort of puzzle collection. If it's a hit, there's a new Layton game coming for switch next year.

Best answer: I'd start with the original trilogy (I'm in the process of starting a new AA run) -- the character development across the trilogy leads well into both the Apollo Justice trilogy and the Investigations games (Investigations 2 is so good).
