Tunes for the holidays

What are your favorite non-mainstream Spotify holiday music playlists? Celtic? Blue Grass, fiddle? Choir? Jazz?

I'm looking for playlists that don't contain the usual 'Feliz Navidad', 'Elvis singing Blue Christmas' popular holiday renditions. Doesn't need to be strictly Christmas music. Covers of popular songs is fine as long as they aren't the ones played at the supermarket.

Happy holidays everyone!

I'm not a big Spotify user, but this time of year I really like listening to madrigals and other early Western music. Here is one playlist someone else made that has some of my favorites (including "Riu Riu Chiu").

I enjoy a bit of Christmas K-Pop (크리스마스 케이팝) during the holiday season.

The Milk Carton Kids just released a Christmas album this month. It's good in a Simon and Garfunkel kind of way.

On a different plane, Doctor Octoroc's 8-bit Jesus is also good!

Anything from before 1900. Liturgical music, Gregorian chant, medieval tunes. Many Monk orders put out CDs of holiday music.

My best friend has a big holiday library. Notably Ski Trails, featuring Jo Stafford - 40s band style. Ski Trails is not a holiday album, just those winter faves. The playlist is mixed. And a playlist of long pieces of music in case you want to let it play. Thanks for asking, I love Christmas and holiday music.

Can I plug my own? It has some of the standard hits but also early music, a cappella, bluegrass, shape note, Georgian folk singing etc. Spotify link here!

The Roches We Three Kings is wonderful.
Pink Martini has an eclectic album of Christmas music that is nice.
Mannheim Steamroller did a bunch of Christmas stuff.

We also have a compilation with lots of old-school Christmas stuff, (Eartha Kitt, Aretha, I think, Maybe some Harry Connick Jr., but can't find it for a name).

Classical music streams from radio stations:
WQXR - really lovely, interesting selections, they also have a Christmas songs stream
Your Classical (MPR) - more popular selections than WQXR
Apple Classical also has a nice Christmas playlist

Can I plug my own?

I also have one - it's got a couple standards (I have a soft spot for Barbara Streisand's rendition of "Jingle Bells" from childhood), but I've also got Julian Casablanca, The Eels, a Chieftains song about fantasizing about just beating up your annoying relatives the day after Christmas because you've HAD IT, and Daveed Diggs' song about getting a puppy for Hannukkah. (Yes, my Christmas playlist has a couple Hannukkah songs.)
