Didn't the Eve 6 guy milkshake duck?

The frontman from 90's alt rockers Eve 6 (the "tender heart in a blender " band) has a pretty funny Xitter account where he says witty, self-deprecating, and generally progressive things. But for some reason, I feel like he milkshake ducked (i.e. said something ick that made him instantly less enjoyable). Did I imagine that? I can't find evidence of that anywhere.

He didn't go full Bernie Bro but crept close enough that I unfollowed. I just refollowed him on bluesky. It's a different time now.

I don't think it lasted very long, but he did a really good advice column for some magazine for a bit. He seems like decent people, which is about as far as I'm willing to go anymore about men I do not personally know over a 10+ year history.

Being a bernie bro isn't a bigoted or cancellable thing to be so I don't know why that's relevant.

I haven't heard of this at all and I was a regular twitter user for years and engaged w/ his account.

Maybe you're thinking of the characterization of him as the guy who is not from Trapt? (famous sucky band with asshole lead signer w/ a shitty twitter account)

With the recent explosion of people moving from Xitter to BlueSky, some of the older leftist/liberal BlueSky posters have been pushing back against the influx of "Resistance Grifters" - folks who were big anti-Trump posters on Xitter as part of building a brand and promotion for their podcasts or blogs or whatever but who aren't actually trained or experienced journalists and who don't seem to do much with their big following. Like, they don't direct people to candidates or campaigns or tell you about how to contact your reps regarding specific bills or direct you to orgs doing boots-on-the-ground work (Run for Something, various local abortion funds, etc etc.) They just pile up likes and followers on social media for being snarky or outraged about what Trump & his cronies have been doing and get progressive "cred" and podcast subscribers or Patreon donations.

I know some folks have put the Eve 6 guy in that pile, so maybe you're picking up on that? Not so much specific milkshake duck but a more general disgruntlement with the idea that progressive posting on Xitter counts as political action. With an extra tinge of bitterness because of Trump's tiny margin of victory. Like, "hey, Eve 6 guy (and others), it's great that people think you're a cool funny progressive guy, but maybe if you'd made every 5th tweet instructions on how to find local election volunteer efforts maybe we wouldn't be in this fucking mess."

I think if eve6 guy harassed people or said misogynistic things that certainly would fall under OPs category of 'sa[ying] something ick that made him instantly less enjoyable'. I don't remember that happening or any discourse about that happening but if it did happen someone would be able to remember it or there would be something on their twitter about it---receipts are pretty easily kept.

Are you thinking of when he expressed admiration/lust for one of the Red Scare podcasters who is a confirmed MAGA grifter at this point?
