I don't like being around people. But I love helping people.

For a misanthrope like me, the best work I can do is to support those people who actually do the work to fight against Trump. So, where should I send my donations in these times? The ACLU is first on my list, but what next? Bonus for LGTBQ+ groups.

I've certainly had the Lavender Rights Project recommended and raised for by queer folks in my neighborhood.

Plan C and the NWHN (which runs it) will be among many organizations providing critical abortion pills by mail as those rights are under threat.

I'll be watching this thread myself as well. Hoping to donate to relocation services for folks trying to gtfo of areas about to be dangerous.

As a fellow misanthropist, please consider looking for a volunteer/service gig that works for you (if you aren’t doing this). One of the ways authoritarianism tightens its grip is by atomizing society and destroying the trust among citizens. Giving money is also good! But your community needs you in all your curmudgeonliness. There are jobs where you can work quietly next to other folks and not have to interact a lot.

Gender Justice League and Southern Equality both include direct funds to trans people and there's a lot who need help traveling to healthcare or relocating right now.
