How can I clean shoe polish off of rubber?

Any ideas on cleaning shoepolish off of rubber?

I bought a used Corolla ('94, for those that are interested), and the previous owners used shoepolish to write contact info for the vehicle on the window. They got quite a bit on the rubber seal around the front and rear windows, and I have no clue how to get it off. I was able to remove it from the glass and paint (yes, they got it all over the paint too), but, the rubber has got me beat.

What should I try?

Spray nine is a cleaner that you might have to search for, but works incredibly well for cleaning and restores rubber to an unbelievable new appearance. We use this on our oilfield pumps to clean up the rubber stators. This sounds like an ad, but I don't work for the company (nor do I have any affiliation, blah, blah, blah). I just like the product.

Their website is www.spraynine.com You'll want the cleaner/disinfectant. This is the only product that I have used personally.

Works great on tires too.

Good luck.
