Possible to upload an already played game to cloud via iphone backup?

I have a newer iphone. My older one has a played game on it and I want to put it on the newer phone, is it possible?

It seems like it should be but googling is giving no joy. I have a game of Two Dots on my older iphone and have backed it up to the cloud, but so far everything I see points to resetting what is already on my newer phone to use the backup. I don't want to do that, I just want my Two Dots with my 1800 levels already played to show up on my newer phone. Please help this dumdum! I don't want to restore or reset anything. Just want this game on my new phone. I don't have an account with Two Dots, have never logged into anything or saved anything so I can't do it that way.

It appears you must connect your game to Facebook to transfer progress, but you should be able to do that now, I believe.

Response by poster: Ah good to know. Neither phone has facebook on it and I don't have an fb account but I guess I will go that route if no one has another way to do it. Thanks, Night_owl!

Wait! I may have discovered an additional option by scrolling more through the FAQs. Maybe these two different steps will help?
