Seeking information on if this is a thing: a mentor (or classroom) type of relationship with the goal of teaching skills such as facial expressions, conveying emotions, confidence in public speaking, identifying body language tics that you may not be aware of.

What search terms might locate this type of pedagogy? Have you participated in such a thing, especially as an adult?

I had a couple sessions with an executive coach prior to a speaking engagement, and we worked on exactly this type of stuff. Executive presence and media training are good search terms for locating someone who can help with these skills.

I teach public speaking, and the things you describe are part of my curriculum, so I would imagine they'd be a part of classes available to you locally as well. In the meantime, I'd recommend video-recording yourself giving a speech, even if it's in your living room. You can get a strong sense of your body language and how you might improve it by watching yourself.

P.S. Community colleges and adult education centers are good places to look for classes.
