Day hikes to panoramic views in the Northern Japan Alps

At the beginning of October, I'll be spending a few days in the Matsumoto area of the Northern Japan Alps. Since I won't have time for a multiday trek, I'm looking for a few quick 'n dirty, four or five mile hikes to get to spots with expansive views--as well as trips on ropeways to access a view point. Your best hits list?

Unfortunately I haven’t had the chance to do any serious hiking in that area, but you can find English language overviews on All Trails, it has really improved over the past few years. There is also the Japanese Yamap hiking app as well…
