Erratic Eroticism: seeking readings on ADHD and Sex

Looking for books/podcasts/articles, anything really, that will help me think through the relationship between ADHD and my sex life/drive.

Last year, I did a LOT of reading about ADHD and feel like I gained a lot of self-insight that has led me to feel much more accepting of my ADHD traits. The link between ADHD and sex was often hinted at but never directly addressed, and I would like to explore this link in myself more as I try to unpack my difficult sexual history. I am open to personal or clinical work. I am nonbinary/gay and am open to any gender/orientation as the writing's focus, even if it assumes straight/cis readers, though gay/trans is preferred.

The only book I've read that touched on this has been 'unmasking autism' which isn't about ADHD but had a section about sex that I found helpful and relatable. I've found that people writing or making videos about their own ADHD experience tend to shy away from talking about something so vulnerable. Further materials about autism or broader neurodiversity and sex also welcome.

Just this week I came across Catie Osborn (catieosaurus on social media I think) via KC Davis's podcast, as a guest host talking about ADHD and sex. I haven't been able to dive in too deeply, but her youtube seems to have a ton of content on it.

Best answer: Ari Tuckman's book ADHD After Dark was helpful for us. It assumes straight/cis readers but acknowledges that limitation. We appreciated its empirical, survey-driven take rather than just hypothesizing.

I came in to recommend Catie Osborn as well. She’s a sex educator and has ADHD herself, so talks about the intersection of the two a lot.

A third recommendation of Catie/Catieosaurus. She talks about it on her TikTok a bit but TikTok tends to censor her so she mostly has that content over on her YouTube. It's a special interest area of hers.

Response by poster: Thanks everyone! After checking out Catieosaurus' videos, I don't think this is what I am looking for. I am looking more for guidance for my own reflection. Forty-five minutes of slower, thoughtful, single-issue exploration does much more for me than twelve minutes of fast-talking '5 ways to improve ND intimacy'

'ADHD After Dark' looks great! I will order a copy.

More suggestion welcome!

Best answer: The author of "ADHD After Dark," Ari Tuckman, contributes to ADDitudemag.com and other outlets. Podcasts, multiple. [Edit: missed Tuckman-penned articles link.]
