Old-school email

I'm looking for an extremely old-school feel, lightweight email client for XP.

I want it to be as close to BlitzMail as possible.

Perhaps even a really old version of an email client would be fitting?

An old version of The Bat! might be right up your alley.

Response by poster: I also really like PC-Pine. Can it be used with any POP3 email?

Check out the options over at TinyApps.

I tried i.Scribe a few years ago and was quite impressed at what they packed into 500K. It's mentioned at the link above.

I'll second The Bat! I used it as my personal mail client for a long time. Cheap and simple.

Thirding The Bat!, it's been ages since I used windows but back then it was the only decent option.

That screenshot of Blitzmail reminds me a lot of Mulberry, a cross-platform Mac/Win/Linux client which is now defunct. You can download the last version for Windows here.

I like nPop. Source is available, as well.

You could try Pegasus Mail. I used to it awhile back and it might be what you're looking for.

Eudora? The light version seems like it hasn't been changed it about 10 years anyway! :)
