German film with young woman and African fortune teller?

Help me identify this German movie.

I'm looking for the title of a German-language film that was released about a decade ago. It features a pretty young woman obsessed with "chance" and signs. She befriends an African fortune teller and learns that her soul mate is associated with a certain number. She chases a man who she thinks corresponds to the number, but it's the wrong man. Apologies if this sounds vague, and some of the plot points I outlined may be off. But I really can't give more information, which is why I'd like to see it again, only I don't know the title!

Are you sure it's German? It sounds a lot like "Girl on the Bridge" (La fille sur la pont), which is French and a fabulous movie.

(Also, "La fille sur le pont" has knifethrowers as the main chacters. If your movie does not, then I'm guessing wrong and I apologize.)

Response by poster: No, that's not it, but this film looks great, too...

Sorry. But I'll be following the thread, then, in hopes of hosting a "young pretty girl who believes in signs and travels the world to follow her fate" international film fest.

Best answer: It sounds similar to "Nobody Loves me" (Keiner liebt mich) by Doris Dörrie, but maybe not be it. In Keiner liebt mich, Fanny, the main character's best friend (who lives in the same, large apartment building) is an African shaman of some type. There's a cast of supporting characters that gives the whole movie almost a Northern Exposure type vibe. A good movie, even if it isn't the same one.

Fanny is obessed with death and tries death classes to make herself feel better. She does chase after a man she thinks is right for her based (if I recall correctly). Ask if you need any more details.
