I'd like your recommendations for a beginner's Rubics Cube tutorial—well produced with a competent teacher. thx

RuWix's beginners method.

Ruwix is a treasure trove of all things cube.

I don’t think the basic beginner technique changes much but learning to solve a Rubik’s cube was one thing I did during COVID.

This is the tutorial I kept coming back to.

I used RuWix and CubeSkills, the former for written instructions and the latter for explantory videos. There’s really no shortage of great stuff on YouTube, my favorite cuber there is Jperm. But you really can’t go wrong with the beginner method, just depends on who you find that explains things in a way that makes most intuitive sense.

Seconding the Wired tutorial bitdamaged linked to above. It was easy to just learn his notation, so after a while I was referencing my notes.

There are tutorials for speed, and then there are tutorials for reasoning. I prefer the latter style of solving because it relies less on memorizing algorithms, and for me there's no better than the way twistypuzzling approaches his puzzles.
