Whats going on in NYC next week?

My awesome partner will be in NYC for the week next week, Sunday through Friday for a workshop -and staying downtown/wall st. Wondering what the hive mind can recommend in terms of cool stuff going on next week that might be off the radar?

Cool music events, clubs, performance, art in particular? also great spots to eat that are uniquely cool in downtown or tribeca?

The Skint (mailing list and website) and Nonsense (free mailing list only) are the places to look for off-the-radar cool stuff. They mostly won't have stuff up for next week yet, but that means there's time to sign up for the mailing lists if they want!

There's always great bands/DJs at Otto's Shrunken Head on 14th St. near Ave. B!

new Superiority burger just opened up and is not to be missed- whatever they say the wait is, just do it + hang out in the back bar.

check out whats on at caveat.nyc, the bell house, joe's pub.

if it's not impossible ro change your arrival to saturday, Queens Night Market is so awesome!

also, walking the entire length of broadway is doable in a single day and quite nice as a couples activity if you like strolling

For something slightly off the beaten tourist path (but just outside of Manhattan), one of the best open studios in New York is finally returning this weekend, in Long Island City. If you like great craft beer, it is easily combined with a local brewery walk, many of them are in the same area as the artist’s studios. Top it off with a visit at the end to Gantry Plaza State Park on the LIC waterfront for awesome views of Manhattan and a chance to relax in one of the city’s recently revitalized park areas (It includes the iconic giant Pepsi sign at the north end, old ferry-rail infrastructure in the middle and a salt water marsh at the south end.)

We just bought tickets to Khan!!! The Musical (previously, on the Blue) for May 28th. It looks like a great time, if you care about Star Trek at all. First, brunch at Market Table and then all singing and all dancing red shirts.
