Name that film: Soccer fan on a date at the opera or ballet

A while back, I’m guessing in the 90s, I saw a film on TV that stuck with me. Or rather, a scene has stuck with me. A man is on a date at a ballet, or an opera, but is surreptitiously listening to soccer on the radio through earbuds. When his team scores he jumps out of his seat in joy, to the surprise of his date and the bougie audience, at which point the man pretends that he was overwhelmed with emotion at the performance on stage and starts applauding, which impresses his date. Does this scene sound familiar to you?

I think the film was Argentine, and that the match in question was the Superclásico between Boca Juniors and River Plate, but it could’ve been any number of fiercely contested derbies, though in my memory some of the players are wearing the River Plate kit. I'm pretty sure it wasn't in English, and I think it was in Spanish, but I saw it such a long time ago that everything about that film except that scene I described is very vague.

Not Spanish, but there's a similar scene in the first season of Slings and Arrows, probably in the first episode when the Minister of Culture (?) and her husband are watching Oliver's weary production of A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Homer does exactly this (at a church service!) in an early episode of the Simpsons.

Are you sure this wasn’t a tv commercial? It sounds exactly like it could be one of those clever award-winning commercials featured in compilations on YouTube.

Response by poster: I’m almost positive this wasn’t an ad, but it could’ve been a short film shown on television in Iceland. These ad compilation clips weren’t shown on tv in Iceland.

The performance was in an old-fashioned grand opera hall or ballet theater.
