Debit card expiration date keeps changing in account?

My debit card account info is saved on the "mindbody" site connected to my yoga studio, but it keeps reverting back (by itself??) To an incorrect expiration date and thrrefore the monthly auto-charge can't go through.
Some background: the last time I got a new debit card, the bank sent it to me with the wrong expiration date (different than the one in their system) and I couldn't use it. They did this twice. Finally they sent me the correct expiration date.
I've saved my account info onto this website(way after the issue with the cards) so that my card can be charged monthly. Twice now it has reverted to the incorrect expiration date (no idea how or why, I never put that one in there). I have to keep going back to check it and then manually save the correct date in there.
I log on with Facebook (onto mindbody) since I forget my password for the actual site- not sure of this is related.
Any ideas on how to keep my correct expiration date saved into my account? Is this a cookies issue or something? (Way back when I got the card I probably tried to save the incorrect card/expiration date onto my Google pay or something, but not into mindbody).

Response by poster: Thanks, restless, I can try that....but the card was entered into the system with the correct expiration date originally, would that still apply?

Best answer: Sometimes when an expiration date is changed the CVV number is changed too. Did you make sure that both match?
If so, the other thing I can think of is that some payment systems can automatically update your card info because they talk to the bank somehow. I wonder if whatever system does that still has the incorrect expiration date in it so it's trying to "helpfully" update your card. Unfortunately I don't know how to stop it from doing that.

Best answer: What misskaz described is what I immediately thought of as well - there is something in the underlying system that thinks the incorrect expiration date is 'more current' data than the correct expiration date provided and so your updates are getting overwritten.
If your curious, here's info about Stripe's card updater (which Mindbody may be using, at one point they were on Stripe, but I don't know if that's still the case, you can probably see in your account)
Since the new card was issued with the bad expiration date, it seems plausible "incorrect card updating" data was also sent to the payments provider which in turn is silently updating your card back to the bad date or suggesting Mindbody update it depending on how things are set up (although I'm not sure why this would happen repeatedly)
Unless it reverts immediately after you save it, then that sort of suggests it's happening within Mindbody and they are silently 'rejecting' your update but not telling you in the UI.
It seems like a 'in the weeds' enough problem that it could be tough enough to track down through support, although if you can keep screenshots of successfully updating it and then having it revert, etc. you might be able to get better support.
But I'd def try what restless_nomad suggests and delete this card and try again from scratch. That maybe the most expedient fix. Although it's possible in that the new card is also linked card info stored at the payment process that has the bad exp. date and you're still stuck. In which case I'd def reach out to support. (So I'd keep screenshots of the whole process if possible including your current card before you delete it and add a new one)

Best answer: Any chance you have more than one mindbody account? I was in a weird tangle with mindbody for a while where I had multiple logins to different companies that used mindbody and I was always logging in with the wrong one.

Response by poster: Such helpful answers, thanks!
I do have more than one account but havent really been using one. I guess ill.go in to both and re-enter the new card from scratch and see if that works.

You should not be linking a debit card ANYWHERE for auto debit. Use a credit card. You aren’t protected in the same way if your information gets stolen and your accounts drained. A credit card is legally obligated to make you whole. Debit card is a on the good will of your financial institution deal. Especially with a system that’s being unreliable, you should get your debit card info off there and replace with a credit card ASAP.
