Which Moto G Smartphone?

I need to replace my Moto G5 that has worked perfectly for six years, but doesn't have the space to run all my apps anymore.

I looked at the Motorola G models available in Europe and am completely confused. They are all approximately the same price, but some cheaper ones have a more recent Android edition, others have more RAM...

My goal is to get a basic phone that doesn't need to have a fancy display, take fancy photos, or run games. Just a simple phone where I won't have to get a new one for another six years or hopefully longer. One feature of the moto I love is when the battery blew out I could replace it myself for fifteen bucks.

Does anyone have a recommendation? Or can at least explain what to prioritize for longevity (Android Version, RAM, 5g capability)?

I've got a Moto Power G that checks all those boxes. Mine is a 2021, it looks like they made a 2022 (in the US anyway), so it should be good for a while. Battery life is the best I've ever had on a phone.

Moto G Power (2022)
Great battery life.

Moto G power 2021 - yes, outstanding battery life. I don't use many apps, but I usually have dozens of open tabs in Chrome (currently 66 - it's the only way I can be relatively sure that I'll read something, i.e., bookmarking just doesn't work for me) and I have no complaints re speed.

The G Power 2022 was a huge downgrade from the 2021. More sluggish, camera took forever to open and take a photo, etc.

Response by poster: For reference, the models we have available are called like G30, G42, G72, etc.

Is the G82 available where you are? That looks like it should be a solid choice.

There was a time when the G-series was often an unusually strong value, but the competition has really caught up. I suggest looking at other brands as well.

I'm still using my Moto G5, and am also looking for another one.
. Unfortunately I can't be of much help.
The problem is the models differ drastically from European ones.
The newly available ( in Canada) Moto G 5G is not at all the same one that was available in Europe.
They don't even look the same.

Hell the USA model is different from the Canadian version. ( the USA version has 256 GB of storage and has 8gb of RAM, while the Canadian one has 64GB of storage and 4GB of RAM)
It's a drastic difference.
And a pain when you are looking for info about a phone.
The North American version of Samsungs A13 has 5 G, while the European one does not.
It's irritating

Have you added an SD card for extra storage?
