best Uber alternatives in Paris

Colleague and I will need to travel short distances around central Paris with bulky video equipment. Walking or public transport is normally fine, but not really with the gear we’ll be schlepping this time. There are bound to be situations when waiting at a taxi rank or taking a chance at hailing won't be ideal. I’ve used Uber previously but am curious about other app-based services in Paris. For example, is G7 reliable? I realize calling for a cab is also a possibility, but sometimes it’s just easier and quicker to use an app.

Best answer: I've used Bolt on recent strike days with no issues at all. I don't know if it's more or less problematic than Uber, but it was great when I needed it.

Best answer: G7 is reliable but a lot more expensive, it’s like a car reservation service rather than a rideshare price like Uber. Bolt and Free Now are the best alternatives, Free Now also has taxis available to book through the app if no private cars are available. Le Cab is a similar service to G7.
If you need to get somewhere fast on strike days, book a G7 or a taxi through the Free Now app as they can use the taxi lanes so miss the extra traffic that strikes cause.

My experience of Uber in Paris was not great.
"Arriving in 11 minutes"
"Arriving in 18 minutes"
"Arriving in 26 minutes"
Then, they would go off the radar totally. Ended up using the Metro instead.
I nearly missed my flight over it.
Use Uber in Paris but don't mix it with any deadlines.

When I’m booking a rideshare I check the journey time on Waze then add 15 minutes, I’m normally early doing this, I get Ubers on a regular basis.
