Where is a sort of Mondrian mural in Manhattan?

I remember an article about a mural painted in a NYC office entrance that was in the style of Mondrian, but slightly different. The black lines were parallel, but didn't meet at a ninety degree angle. Did I hallucinate this, or has some else seen it?

Julie Mehretu's mural at Goldman Sachs? It was featured in a New Yorker article... the black lines are not parallel, though.

Could it have been a Sol LeWitt wall drawing? Some of his stuff is vaguely Mondrian-like, and I've seen his wall drawings in private buildings occasionally. His estate effectively licenses the instructions for the drawings to museums and other institutions who want to reproduce the drawings on their walls. (The listing on that page is not an exhaustive list of his catalogue, but it might help you recognize his style.)

I have no idea where in NYC his wall drawings might be installed, but the name might help you track it down if it's correct.

Could it have been something by Sarah Morris?

Best answer: I believe it's "Relational Painting No. 88, 1960" by Fritz Glarner at 1271 Avenue of the Americas (former Time Life Building). See this New York Times article for some detail about the building (pg. 19, "Press 'L' for Landmark"). You can see an image in this article "MOMA.org Staff Picks: Art Around Midtown."

There's a Sarah Morris mural in the entrance to the UBS building at 1285 6th Avenue. You can see it clearly in Google maps as well as at their art collection site. The lobby there is designed to be a rotating open art gallery - anyone can walk around and look at the art.

There are also a few murals on 6 1/2 ave in the arcade between 51st and 52nd but I can't off the top of my head remember who they're by.

They're Sol LeWitt; we walked through there last week, as if in anticipation of this question
