Did this UK Amazon app £10 off when you spend £25 promotion exist?

I am in the UK and have an Amazon.co.uk account. I have the Amazon app installed on my iPhone and it’s signed in to my Amazon.co.uk account. Last month, I received a notification from the app advertising a promotion where I would receive £10 off if I spent £25 in the app. However, when I tried to use it, it seemed to disappear from the app and Amazon customer service says there was no such promotion. Did it ever exist?

I received the notification of the promotion from the Amazon app on my iPhone in November. To the best of my recollection, it offered £10 off if I spent £25 in a single transaction in the Amazon app by the end of 15 December. I activated the promotion immediately.

Earlier in December, I bought something from Amazon through the app costing more than £25 but did not get the £10 discount. I searched through the Byzantine labyrinth of menus in the app and eventually found somewhere in my account where the promotion was saved with the label ‘UK Nudge 42’. It seemed to be as I remembered it but with the added stipulation that the items purchased must be sold and dispatched by Amazon, and that certain products like the Fire TV Stick were excluded. The item I was buying was not sold nor dispatched by Amazon so was not eligible. I made a mental note of this.

On 15 December, I tried again. This time I filled my basket in the app with more than £25 of items sold and dispatched by Amazon and… I still did not get the £10 off. I searched high and low through the app but I could find no record of the promotion any more. Questioning my sanity, I did a web search and found https://www.latestdeals.co.uk/deals/10-off-25-next-eligible-purchase-amazon-app- — this seems to describe the promotion and if you press the ‘Get Deal’ button it takes you to an Amazon page that contains ‘UK Nudge 42’.

So I contacted Amazon customer service via live chat in the app. The customer service representative said there were no promotions on my account and asked for more details. I described the offer and the representative said they checked with their manager and Amazon were running no such promotion. I sent the link to the LatestDeals.co.uk page and they said it was a scam (they used that exact word). I mentioned ‘UK Nudge 42’ and they said it meant nothing to them.

I’m fairly certain I did not hallucinate receiving the notification, activating the promotion and then viewing the promotion in the app days later. However, I can believe I may have missed a detail that meant my purchase was not eligible. But Amazon say the promotion did not exist at all!

So did any other users of the UK Amazon app receive this promotion? Did you manage to redeem it?

I've found it, and it's definitely not an official Amazon promotion, it looks like some kind of scam on Facebook.

I simply googled Amazon "UK nudge 42" and have found a Facebook post which is *not* from Amazon -

https://m.facebook.com/481404575376988/posts/ad-httpsamznto3nzvwef10-off-25-spend-through-app-at-amazon-selected-accountsvali/2159433187574110/

It says *AD at the beginning and that it is 'Selected accounts' even though it's just a Facebook post and not linked to an Amazon account at all.

Sooo, scam. Some kind of attempt to funnel people to an Amazon store that doesn't exist any more.
