cat themed cocktail ideas...

I'm having a birthday party for my cat. What should the featured cocktail be?

I would like to have a signature drink (underscoring: the cat won't be drinking this, only humans) that features a leaf of sage clipped to the glass as an aromatic but also as a sort of tail. Why? Because I think this would look cool! (I'm open to like...rosemary or something else green and sprig-like instead too...)

I don't want to make anything too sweet or too sour (I lean toward savory/earthy drinks but I'm not sure what that could be here), and if it could use up some of the vodka lurking in my freezer that would be ideal.

Any ideas?!

I don't know anything about this org, but they have a whole guide to cat-themed cocktail parties -- Including the Moscow Mew, which would in fact use up your vodka.

Not cat themed, but a savory, earthy, herby and oddly tasty cacktail. Could easily be renamed "Cat Nip", That's How We Cass-e-role Cocktail. I used absinthe instead of Chartreuse.

There's a bunch of different cocktails named the Cat's Pajamas*. I read a bunch of them and these are the ones that sound good to me:

Kindred Cocktails's version
Haute Living's version
This one is meant to sell more Barrow's ginger liqueur

* idk about you, but my cats are their own pajamas

Satan's Whiskers comes immediately to mind. It's comprised of gin, dry and sweet vermouth, orange juice (acid-adjusted would be best), orange bitters and Grand Marnier for the "straight" version or orange curacao for the "curled" version

There's also an old one from the 1920s called the Cats-Eye consisting of gin, kirsch, cointreau, dry vermouth and a splash of strong lemonaid or, better yet, limonata

The Lion's Tail from ca. 1937 is bourbon sour with lime juice, allspice liqueur and a dash of Angostura; the Lion is rye, port, egg white, lemon juice and sugar; the Red Lion is gin, Grand Marnier, orange juice and lemon juice; the Demerara Red Lion is demerara rum, orange curacao, grenadine, lime, angostura and a teaspoon of egg white

There's a nonalcoholic cocktail called the Pussyfoot, but it sounds terrible

for a lower-abv option you could offer the Kitty Highball (perhaps just with regular ginger ale instead of the syrup here). a punchy red vermouth or fortified wine might play up the sage.

Can you make thin strips of hardened sugar (drizzle and then break), place a few in the glass - pointing left and right so as to suggest whiskers - make a very strong cocktail in the glass and call it Whisker Fatigue?

Salty kitties.
Okay, they're salty dogs but your sage tails turn them into salty kitties.

Mariner's Catch/Seacaptain's Choice.
this is a Clamato jello shot served in a washed-out Friskies can of the same name. (Or probably Fancy Feast cans would be less horrifying, since they're smaller, but I only know the Friskies sea-themed entree names.)

Good Mousers
You make Gibsons but you turn the onions into tiny mice with a couple of peppercorns for eyes and a curl of chive for a tail. Don't ask me how you get the peppercorns and chive to stick into the cocktail onions. Seems like it would be frustrating. Really only the first drink sounds both make-able and drinkable, but I for one would like to see if I could convince people to suck clamato out of a fancy feast can. They wouldn't forget that party in a hurry!

Tart cherry juice and brandy is simple and tasty, garnish with a basil leaf.

How about a Bloody Mary with a dash of fish sauce? I mean, my cat would probably drink that sans alcohol.
