Which cat dishes should I get?

I need some new "wet food" cat dishes. And because Reasons, I'd like to order something off Amazon ASAP. I was using these, which are fine, but I'd like something that has a higher side (so less food gets pushed out) but also I know about whisker fatigue so I'd like to avoid that as well. Suggestions?

Honestly I got cereal bowls from a local charity shop for my cat - they work perfectly well to keep food in and the slope is gentle enough to avoid whisker fatigue.

Seconding that, or brand new ones were at the market for $1.27 each, yesterday.

Response by poster: Yeah, I need an edge. Y'all, my cats are slobs + ants are real, yo, so my goal is to keep as much food in the dish as possible.

I use something like this for their dry food, but I don't have enough of them to also do the wet food. (And I realize I could purchase more, but I think bowls would be cheaper.)

We use small Corelle bowls, which you can find in any thrift store or order new, because we can have plenty of extras for washing and I don't break them when I trip over them with my big human feet.

I eventually settled on pyrex loaf pans to feed my cats. They have high sides and are impossible for cats to knock over. Square baking pans have somewhat lower sides, so might be easier to use (I used these more when I was going to be gone a few days and wanted to leave a lot of dry food). I don't fully understand whether either of these would result in whisker fatigue, but I never had any issues with cats not using them.

I recently got these for my cats, elevated bowls, as one of mine is a puker

Best answer: These work for me.

I have three of these elevated Yummy bowls for my cat, one for dry food and rotate the other two for wet food. Very little food spillage ever and it's supposed to be better for their digestion if they eat from a raised dish.

elevated, tilted bowl works well for my two

Search for soup plates on Amazon--those are wide shallow bowls with a lip like the W-S ones you linked to. Not much cheaper though. If you have time, any thrift store will have odd soup plates like this for cheap.

Owner of another slob cat here. I found some saucers shaped like miniature soup plates at a discount store which are perfect. I also got an ant proof tray ( it has little feet that screw into blobs of gel- called the antswer on Amazon) which was a godsend

I use mismatched fancy china soup plates/shallow bowls that I buy at thrift shops . They are usually not quite as deep as modern bowls and the designs are pretty.

I have a lot of back pain when doing dishes, so I've been giving the cats one of these plastic plates of wet food every meal. I set the plate on a silicone trivet, similar to these trivets, so they don't slide around. It actually has worked great for quite some time now.

My cat eats off these and while there's a little mess (she doesn't have any teeth) it's not too bad.

Best answer: I got a 6-pack of cheap gratin dishes (4oz, roughly 5 inch diameter). They're okay. Something like this.

My cat would push the wet food to the sides of a flat bowl and not finish her meal. We use a bowl with higher sides and she does a better job of finishing her food.

Best answer: I bought stainless steel bowls, and I think I have 12 of them. They go in the dishwasher, and they fit into a raised bowl that I use like a stand.
