Can you pickle snap peas?

I have a gallon of snap peas to use up and I'm sick of eating them, having already eaten a gallon. (Literally. It's been a good year for peas.) Can I hot-water-bath vinegar pickle them like dilly beans?
Pickled snap peas are delicious and I like to eat them.

If you're boiling water anyway you can also blanch and then freeze some which they do pretty well. At least for cooked purposes.

You can also make refrigerator pickles with peas and whatever other veggies are handy.

Response by poster: I mostly need them to be boiling-water-canned because it's harvestpocalypse right now and we don't have fridge or freezer space for anything else. I feel pretty good about it, thanks!

Adding a grape leaf in each bottle--even bottled grape leaves from the store--should help keep them crisp. Which is the point.

Best answer: Coming back in - my first comment above, I noticed, did not include recipes which go on to discuss water bath canning info. This one does, however.

The grape leaf trick is a good one. If you don't have grape leaves, blackberry or raspberry leaves also work. The tannins keep your pickles crisp!

Response by poster: That's a good tip about the raspberry or grape leaves. They make a product called Pickle Crisp for this purpose, but raspberry leaves are free to me right now so I'll use that. Guess what everyone's getting for Christmas!!!
