iPad live mixing video to HDMI?

I'd like an app that would allow me to live mix video (transitions and effects optional) using an iPad mini 5/6 with a HDMI adapter to a 1080p projector. I don't want to mirror the iPad screen – just feed the HDMI as a seperate output. Is this doable?

Framerate is secondary, transitions and effects optional but nice. Previously I've used Resolume and PD, but I'd like to see if I can run this from an iPad. Any suggestions?

Pushing an extended display or separate video output is beyond what any regular iPad can do. I have used my iPad as essentially a giant remote to my Apple TV where I am 'streaming' the video from the iPad over Airplay but you might find the time between selecting tracks to be problematic.

Another deal breaker is that Airplay streaming is supported by a variety of apps/services- but not all.

I’m not sure if it would be happy on those iPads, but I ran Switcher Studio on an iPhone X with a 1080 output over HDMI and it was super happy. It’s subscription but they may still have their older non-subscription app around.

Response by poster: Thanks for the suggestion sixswitch, I'll take a look – from app store page it looks like it only controls streaming throuhg, not pushing through HDMI. (I also found some info that only the M1 iPads will have support for external monitors, so I might be out of luck)

Thanks for the input!
