Event can be well-known or obscure (the more obscure the better) but lasts no more than two or three days. Multi-day fairs or festivals do not count.

Does it have to be 1937? I know a couple things that started in 1936.

In 1937 exactly? I tried searching for "85th annual 2022" and came up with a few possible candidates like a women's yacht race and a Hawaiian baseball tournament, and a whole lot of trade shows and conferences. Are those the sorts of things you are looking for?

Yes, sorry.

Exactly. Also interested in less widely-visible (and maybe not even on the Internet) events.

Best answer: Here's recurring events established in 1937 from Wikipedia. At first glance, Abbott's Get-together - a convention for magicians - looks intriguing. But there's not a lot!

Poland's Independence Day on November 11 was first officially celebrated in 1937. Of course the military parades were on hold in World War II, but it was still celebrated privately and by the government in exile.
