How an my friend get Hulu in Canada if she doesn't know what a VPN is? She just wants to watch the new Emma Thompson movie. Could she use data on her phone?

I presume you're asking about "Good Luck To You, Leo Grande". That film is available on Amazon Prime Video here in Canuckistan. It's fairly common for Hulu original programming to be distributed via other providers up here.

Response by poster: Interesting. I read that it was on Amazon Prime Video, but I looked it up on my Amazon site in the US and it wasn't here. She's near Montreal. I'll tell her to look it up on her Amazon Prime Video.

You can sign up for a month long free trial on Hulu if available in Canada.

The app JustWatch is as far as I know the best way to find out where you can watch things here. Amazon Prime is the only place.

I think it's impossible to get Hulu here without a VPN and an American credit card and billing address.

I think Hulu stuff streams on Crave in Canadia, maybe have them check there?

I live in Montreal and just checked my Amazon Prime account. 'Good Luck To You, Leo Grande' is available to watch and included with Prime (e.i. you don't need to pay extra to rent it once you have an account).

Thirding that it's on Amazon Prime (I'm in Ontario). Licensing is weird. Crave in Canada gets most of HBO and Hulu and Paramount stuff, but some of it... ends up in other places. This seems to be one of those.

Response by poster: Thank you, MollyRealized. I, in NYC, have seen it. And now my friend in Canada MUST see it because 6 of us (women) who graduated from college together in 1971 are getting together next week and we will be discussing it in depth! Thank you all.
