ISO simple screw top, leak proof travel mug that keeps cold things cold

Somehow, with all the travel mugs available out there...I still can't seem to find the one I need.

I like to drink Soylent for lunch during the work week. I don't want to spend the money on or the buy the single use plastic from their RTD line. At home, I've been making it from their powder and using old spaghetti sauce jars to store it and drink out of. But now my office is reopening and I need to find a way to bring it with me to work. Unfortunately, spaghetti sauce jars are not leak proof or travel safe. Snowflake needs:

-Totally leak proof. Like, can toss-it-in-the-bottom-of-my-backpack leakproof.
-No glass; need something I can drop without shattering
-Soylent is pretty darn thick. Therefore, the pour opening has to be very large, or better yet, there are no openings and you just have to unscrew the whole top to drink straight from the container. Smaller openings like the typical ones on Hydroflasks or Yetis won't cut it.
-Fully dishwasher safe, body and lid
-Lid should be very uncomplicated and easy to clean. Soylent powder has a lot of tiny granules in it that are a pain to get out.
-Keeps cold things cold

I think I'm basically looking for a stainless steel insulated body with a plastic screw on top; no openings, buttons, levers, or anything else to it. I've been haunting Amazon looking through piles of mugs and can't find this. Does this even exist? Also open to any other suggestions that don't require buying something new. Thanks!

Thermos brand seems to have some options. Maybe this? Or maybe look at the food storage options.

Yes, they do exist - as a kid, I would call this a "thermos" (though now I know that this is a brand name).

Zojirushi makes excellent travel mugs and thermos-like things. The one I have probably has too complicated a top for your drink - you'd want one that was more open - but it keeps my tea so hot. Actually, sometimes too hot, even hours later. It also fully locks and does not leak in my bag.

The Zojirushi Stainless Carry Tumbler meets 5/6 of your requirements:

* bottom of the backpack level of leakproof
* stainless steel, not glass
* simple screwtop that you have to remove to drink from the container
- not dishwasher safe, you will need to handwash
* lid is very simple without openings or niches
* Zojirushi thermoses are the most effective thermoses for keeping cold things cold and hot things hot that we've used in the Kouti household.

I can spill almost anything, but I’ve been very happy with my Fellow Carter mug. I just throw it in my backpack. Wide mouth and the ceramic coating means it doesn’t pick up flavors (plus it’s not as dark inside, so I can better tell if it’s totally clean). Not supposed to be dishwasher safe, but I do occasionally wash it on the top rack and it has survived so far.

The Yeti 18oz Rambler meets your criteria.

I have half a dozen of these Thermoflasks and while I use them for water or soft drinks they check all your requirements and will keep ice inside for 10+ hours.

You seem to be describing a thermos. Try this one. They come larger if you need larger.

I've been using this one for hot items for years. Should work the same for cold items. Very wide mouth, like you can eat with a spoon from it.

Best answer: Seconding the Yetis. I have the 26 oz bottle with a chug cap and it’s exactly what you describe. With the “chug cap” bottles, you can screw off the whole top.

Best answer: A Klean Kanteen Insulated TKPro has a slightly narrowed thermos-style opening with a really well-insulated cap, but if you want to trade a little insulation for an even larger opening, get an insulated TKWide with a Loop Cap.

A problem a lot of answers are missing is you can’t dishwasher an insulated flask—the vacuum chamber doesn’t do well in such conditions. Mind you if you were willing to accept it conking out quickly and needing to be rebought that might be fine as a tradeoff?

Thermoflasks are dishwasher safe. I only run my main one through every few weeks but it seems to be holding up.

Yeah, a properly made vacuum chamber will have no problems in a dishwasher. My Stanley has been through the dishwasher hundreds of times over the last twenty years with no issues, and the manufacturer is explicit that this is perfectly fine and won’t affect the lifetime warranty.

Best answer: Another side note, and it depends on how you make your soylent, but for the same reasons a thermos is great at keeping stuff cold, it's _lousy_ at allowing things to get cold in the first place. I have to have a separate container of water in my fridge for my thermos in the summer - filling the thermos from the tap and putting it in the fridge results in a thermos full of water that's only 2-3 degrees colder than tap water. So this might affect your production routine (and also maybe your preferred thermal regulation system, as a result) if you were pre-mixing your soylent and letting it chill overnight in a glass jar and hoping to do the same in a thermos.
