Remember this episode of This American Life?

Can anyone identify an old episode of TAL with the theme of 'learning from mistakes'? I have searched their website, and googled, using terms like 'regrets' or 'mistakes,' but this episode was more nuanced - how making a big mistake and living with recognition of it can shape someone's life for the better over time. One part featured a kid who had betrayed a friend?

Was this a re-air of an episode of Heavyweight? Might be worth search in their archive as well, but you might need a couple more details.

Response by poster: Thanks - I’m confident it was TAL, but it was several years ago. Back when you listened on schedule.

I’m also confident it was TAL, as this is ringing bells for me too. The host of Heavyweight is Jonathan Goldstein, who also produced many stories for TAL and several of the stories on Heavyweight were featured as acts on TAL. He has a very unique story telling style and many of his stories focus on childhood mistakes and betrayals, so perhaps search for episodes of TAL featuring his pieces?

Possibly Episode 584, For Your Reconsideration or 541, Regrets, I've Had a Few?
