Is there an easy way to get a second Venmo account, or an alias name for my Venmo account?

I have a personal Venmo account that I use with all my friends and family. I also have some PG-13 activities where people want to send me money, and I don't want to use one with my real name.

Is there an easy way to get a second Venmo account, or have an alias on my account to give out to people?

I have two bank accounts, if that makes it easier. I tried signing up for a new Venmo account with a google account number, but Venmo seems to recognize that it's VOIP and I couldn't use it. It seems like a phone number is required for each Venmo account, and I would prefer not to get a second phone number just for Venmo.

Any way to have a second Venmo name or account?

This didn't work. Specifically, these instructions seem to be referring to a different (older?) version of the app.

Unfortunately with Know Your Customer requirements for financial services it’s going to be a hassle to set up a fake name. If keeping your activity private would suffice, you can definitely set privacy filters on your transactions.

What about a business account?

This might be a hassle, but you could get a cheap prepaid sim card with a different number and just swap them when you need to access the new Venmo account. You can still get the emailed notifications with your main sim, after set up your just need to swap to transfer money to your bank or whatever.

Venmo gives you the ability to set up separate personal and business names for your Venmo account. Would that get you what you want?

Last I checked, it is not possible to set up two separate Venmo accounts going to the same bank account. This is something that married couples with a joint bank account often want and can't have. So getting another phone number and another phone won't help.

You should also be aware that Venmo frowns on some PG-13 activities. I have a friend who used Venmo to reconcile the stakes in some friendly poker games that went online during Covid. After receiving half a dozen transfers with the memo "Poker" his account got shut down for violation of terms of service. He appealed, but was denied and now no longer has a Venmo account.
